A meeting of Dunholme Parish Council took place on Monday 6th January 2025 in the Jubilee Room of the village hall. 

Present: Cllr A Pache (Chair), P Cutter, Ms J Guest and Mrs C Forrester

25/01/01        Chairman’s remarks         

   Welcome to the first meeting of 2025.  Last year was a very successful year for the Parish Council and it is hoped that 2025 will be just as successful.                     

25/01/02       To receive apologies and reasons for absence 

  Proposed Cllr Mrs Forrester, seconded Cllr Cutter and agreed by all to accept apologies and reasons for absence from Cllr Ms Keetley.      

25/01/03       Disclosure of pecuniary interests  

              None received 

25/01/04       Notes of the meeting held on Monday 2nd December 2024 to be approved and signed as minutes

 Proposed Cllr Cutter, seconded Cllr Mrs Forrester and agreed by all to approve the minutes of the last meeting as a true record of events.     

25/01/05       Accounts and Finance 

a)   To confirm completion of the Parish and Town Borrowing Application Form, to request a loan to purchase community space within the village

b)   To approve the 2025-26 draft budget and complete the final request for 2025-26 precept for submission to WLDC

Proposed Cllr Mrs Forrester, seconded Cllr Ms Guest and agreed by all to request a precept amount for 2025-26 of £55,620. 

c)    To approve the payment of accounts

25/01/06      Parish Council Building and Assets:- 

              a)   To receive an update on the village hall and Bowls Club progress 

Awaiting a reply from the funding application towards applications and surveys from WLDC. 

 25/01/07     To discuss and submit comments to WLDC regarding planning applications received:- 

                       None received 

25/01/08     To receive an update regarding promoting sustainability within the village 

The collection points for the Christmas cards have been put out for the community to use.  

25/01/09     To discuss and take any necessary action regarding the Community Volunteer of the Year awards 

The Clerk will request for nominations for the Volunteer of the Year award from members of the public with a deadline date for nominations of 21st February 2025.   

                      A budget of £50 was set for the purchase of the awards and certificate frame. 

25/01/10    To discuss and take any necessary action regarding the annual Christmas market, including an email received from a Councillor in reference to the risk assessment and to agree on a new lead for the 2025 event 

The concerns that were raised in the email were brought to the attention of Cllr Ms Guest after the event who sent them onto the Chairman to make him aware – these will be discussed further and  added to a risk assessment document for this years event. 

Proposed Cllr Mrs Forrester, seconded Cllr Ms Guest and agreed by all to arrange the 2025 Christmas event as a group and ask for any external help. 

It was decided that an earlier time will be looked into so that the Christmas tree lighting can also be held earlier. 

25/01/11      Administration:- 

                      a) To receive an update regarding the movement of the Parish Council website 

                           No further update available. 

25/01/12     Village Maintenance 

a) To discuss and take any necessary action regarding village maintenance needed around the village              

  • Valley on DDIBC roof has been blocked with leaves and debris again – proposed Cllr Pache, seconded Cllr Cutter and agreed by all to get the gutter cleared to prevent water damage to the DDIBC.  A budget of £150 was set for the work to be undertaken.
