February 2026 Minutes

A meeting of Dunholme Parish Council took place on Monday 2nd February 2026 in the Jubilee Room of the Village Hall.

26/02/01     Chairman’s remarks

 A number of improvement projects have taken place throughout the month, including gates on Manor Farm Estate and a new opening to get from the extended village hall car park to the village hall site.

26/02/02     To receive apologies and reasons for absence

Proposed Cllr Mrs Forrester, seconded Cllr Ms Guest and agreed by all to accept apologies and reasons for absence from Cllr Ms Keetley..

26/02/03     Disclosure of pecuniary interests

None received

26/02/04      Notes of the meeting held on Monday 5th January 2026 to be approved and signed as minutes

Deferred to the next meeting to allow all Councilors to review the content.   

26/02/05    Accounts and Finance

                 a) To approve the current financial statement

Proposed Cllr Ms Guest, seconded Cllr Mrs Forrester and agreed by all to approve the current financial statement at 31st December 2025.  The bank balance at 31.12.2025 is £165,532.27

                 b) To approve the payment of accounts

Proposed Cllr Cutter, seconded Cllr Firth and agreed by all to make the following payments:

26/02/06     Parish Council Building and Assets:-

                  a) To receive an update on the village hall and Bowls Club improvement progress

No update to minute

                  b) To discuss and take any necessary action regarding the community orchard

Proposed Cllr Ms Guest, seconded Cllr Mrs Forrester and agreed by all to accept a quote from AKO Maintenance for £350 to plant the new trees.

The Clerk will contact Rudies Roots to see if there would be an additional cost for them to water the trees when required.

30 trees are being received – apples, pears and plums

26/02/07      To discuss and make any comments on planning applications received:-

WL/2026/0080 – Auroga, 78 Lincoln Road – Planning application for extension of an existing dropped kerb.

WL/2026/0042 – Land adjoining Dunholme Industrial Estate – Application for pproval of reserve matters to erect 5no. commercial units, considering appearance, landscaping and scale following outline planning permission WL/2024/0078 (147705) granted 3 June 2024.

Signage regarding pedestrians walking in the area making aware of the public footpath

26/02/08        To receive an update regarding sustainability within the village

                      Cllr Ms Guest reported:-

- A litter pick took place in Welton and extended to Honeyholes Lane where 3 bags of rubbish were collected from the area.

- William Farr are doing a litter pick in April as part of Earth Day – they have asked if they can use the Parish Council equipment – this was agreed by all.

26/02/09        Village Maintenance

                      a) To discuss and take any necessary action regarding village maintenance needed around the village

- The DDIBC roof is still leaking and therefore it was agreed by all to approve a quote for £1495 from J.D. Refurbishments to investigate the issue.  This was agreed under the Clerks emergency powers due to the seriousness of a leak in the building.

- Quotes will be sought to add a further disabled bay in the village hall car park.

- A concern was raised over slippery mud on the path outside of the sports units – the Clerk will purchase a slippery when wet sign for the area and request the football club to brush any mud of the slabs after a football match.

- The entrances to the park on Kennington Close are muddy and wet. Cllr Pache will contact AKO Maintenance to see if they can fill the holes and place matting down to leasen the maintenance required to the area.

                       b) To agree the 2026-27 village maintenance and grass cutting contracts

- Proposed Cllr Mrs Forrester, seconded Cllr Ms Guest and agreed by all to accept the quote from Future Farming Ltd for the 2026-27 grass cutting and village maintenance contracts.  There has been no price increase for the coming year. 

                       c) To discuss and take any necessary action regarding the path and road surface on Scothern Lane

- Send resident's email to Highways

                       d) To discuss and take any necessary action regarding a meeting with Highways to discuss the grass verges opposite St Chads Primary School

- Awaiting availability from Highways to meet and discuss this further.
